Each holiday season, Ogunquit’s generosity shines bright through the Ogunquit Spirit of Giving. Launched in 2005 by a small group of local residents, the initiative has grown into a well-organized program that delivers holiday gifts to hundreds of children across Maine.
, the Ogunquit Spirit of Giving team identifies children who would benefit from a little extra holiday joy.
This year, donors register to provide gifts, and the organization thoughtfully handles the matching process, pairing each pledge with a child’s wish list. Donors simply register at
, choose how many children they wish to support, and shop within a recommended budget of $50–$75 per child.
The result is a holiday tradition defined by intention, warmth, and meaningful giving.
The Annual Gift Drop-Off Party
The holiday gift drop-off party offers a chance for volunteers and donors to come together and celebrate the season of giving. This year’s celebration will be held on Sunday, December 7th, from 4–6 PM at Mainestreet Ogunquit.
Guests arrive with their unwrapped gifts and are welcomed into a warm celebration with music, light bites, and holiday cheer.
For those unable to attend, a designated drop-off box at Mainestreet Ogunquit is available during business hours.
As the evening concludes, volunteers organize and load the collected gifts into waiting vans, ensuring each gift is delivered to children throughout the state by Christmas.
